TREE of the day — FLAMINGO

Flamingos are very graceful birds.  In honor of the peachy-pink birds of Florida, I am writing about the imaginary tree and calling it a flamingo tree.

Why?  My friend gave me a gift of a sculptured flamingo carving.  It looks like an imaginary tree as it stands on my balcony.  Somebody has nicknamed it the flamingo tree.

In the last chapter of Zisa Moglen’s book “Second Lamppost on the Left: Stories from My Brooklyn Neighborhood,” she describes her first glimpse of the beautiful birds known as flamingos.

The chapter is titled “Flamingos in Florida.”  Available as an ebook and hardcover.
